mIRC - Internet
Relay Chat & ICQ "I Seek You" Rules & Tutorials
Soccer All Stars and football is all about communication. Without
communication we can't play football properly, we can't conduct
transfers and we can't give live television interviews. The
communication and media are essential to communication as well as
IRC and ICQ are essential for communication in Soccer All Stars.
mIRC
Soccer All Stars have their
'own' channel on IRC which you can visit on a regular basis to chat
with fans and other managers of the game. The Soccer All Stars staff
members can regularly be found chatting there too and are always on
hand to help with any questions or general enquiries you may have.
The official SAS channel is also a great way to pick up important
announcement and news before they hit the website and is also used
for our live results service!
To log into the Soccer All Stars chat
room you need:
1 To download IRC and install
it - http://www.mirc.com or
http://www.mirc.co.uk
2 To log on to any Efnet
server
3 And to join the

Failure to comply
with any of the above rules will see you either kicked, temporary
banned or permanently banned. However, we will warn you first and if
you continue to abuse the rules then you will be dealt with. A lot
have been left out due to common sense.
The same goes for
the OP's. They are not allowed to abuse their authority and if seen
doing so then they will be dealt with.
All chat in the
channel is monitored by the bots. Therefore all chat's are
effectively logged and can be viewed at a later date by a board
member. So let that be a warning to anyone who thinks they can get
away with messing around when a SAS Executive Board member is not
around.

STATUS GUIDE:
OP
STATUS
Ops are the people who
run/control the channel. Ops are likely to be members of the SAS
Executive Board. You can distinguish an OP easily as he or she will
have an '@' before their nickname. For example if the user SK was an
OP. His nickname would be seen as
@SK.
BOT
STATUS
Bots are also distinguished by an
'@' before their name. However bots are not real people and are just
there to keep the channel from being over run. Bots are can also be
known as robots. It's not possible to hold a conversation with a bot
unless a channel operater (OP) is controlling the bot.
VOICE
STATUS
Voice is awarded by OPs on
merit. If your behaving well you will see a '+' appear before your
name. For example +SK. This means that if we moderate the channel
(meaning nobody can speak or send messages to the channel for people
to read) people who have '+' are allowed to speak.
You may wonder why we'd moderate a channel. We'll sometimes we'll
have important announcements to make and will need you to see what
we're saying without the needless hassle of interruptions!
