Newspaper
Football for many is portrayed upon us via the media. Whether it's sports magazines, televisions programs, the radio or the tabloids. The press and professional determine how we perceive football as an audience. The newspaper here at Soccer All Stars is the first place to publish all the big news stories as they happen as well as generating it's own amount of fuss throughout the league through exaggerated or inaccurate articles!

CADIN: CHANGES NOT ENOUGH
BRADFORD SUPREMO UNHAPPY WITH SYSTEM

Former Ipswich Town hero Dr. Olivier Cadin is the first big name manager to publicly vent his anger at the new transfer system. The now Bradford City manager, is unhappy that there has not been enough changes to the new system. Cadin was hoping to see a price cap placed on transfers to stop them spiraling out-of-control.

It was just a few weeks ago that Cadin revealed he was quoted £5 million for a player who Cadin described as 'almost in his forties'. His outburst has suggested that he has found life at Bradford City tough. Just over the past weekend he was on the wrong end of the Bradford City faithful for dropping star player Gary Speed. The Welshman later found out that he was on his way to Ipswich.

Bradford have confirmed talks are in the pipeline with Ipswich Town manager Anipalat, but was not 100% complete. The move, although likely to upset the Bantams faithful, is a clear indicator that the club are still suffering from a shortage of transfer funds.

Speed, who was arguably the player-of-the-season during Season One/S1, was subject to £10 million bids from various Soccer All Stars clubs.  Bradford though refused to cash in on the midfield man, and he helped the club to the SAS Cup and promotion to Division 1 on the last day of the season.

It's thought that Speed's valuation may have decreased since then, especially since he was dropped from the first-team.  Should he not command a fee of in the region of £5 million, Valley Parade could become a hostile environment for Cadin.

Earlier this season, former manager and hero Buck Hysen often stressed his difficulty at signing new players, stating that they were overpriced and that the club had no funds to match the big teams in Soccer All Stars. Hysen, now manager of England, had admitted in the past that he was likely to leave, should he be given the chance to spend big elsewhere.

Cadin may see selling Speed as the only alternative to bring in suitable funds for players.  His outburst justifies his decision to allow Speed to leave the club, and talking to the local press, he has obviously gained the attention of the higher authorities.

The Soccer All Stars Executive Board hit back at Cadin's outburst, insisting that he had no idea what was in store for him and the rest of Soccer All Stars. Talking to the media, Soccer All Stars Executive Board member ScreamKing said: "I can understand some of the managers concerns, but we have issued a statement that further changes were to be made. It would be impractical to have applied all of those immediately. Therefore it surprises me that some managers wish to go public with their concerns, rather than speaking to us in private."

The transfer deadline is to be lifted later this week, with several new laws being applied to the system with immediate effect. Some of those include banning extra clauses in player contracts, limiting the amount of players that can move in an exchange deal, and limiting loan deals.

Cadin though was pleased to see the new restrictions applied, but hopes that more will be added in the near future.  Just what Soccer All Stars have in mind is beginning to baffle experts around the country.

The Development Director ScreamKing gave the biggest indication that major changes were on the way by saying:  "I am sure that some clubs out there will be delighted to know that the power will sway strongly to the employee rather than the employers in the near future.  Whether this will be of benefit to smaller or larger clubs is anybody's guess, but I strongly believe that this will bring an end to what some describe as overpriced players."

However, he also stated that a capping system would be unrealistic and unnecessary.  He said: "It's up to club's themselves to sort out the transfer fee over an particular player.  What one club isn't willing to pay, another isn't.  Therefore you live by the market rates.  They are extremely high in Soccer All Stars, but I'm afraid you'll find that's life."
